What is a live capture?

A live capture, also known as a "pro-shot", is a professional video of a fully realized theatrical production. A capture can be done with varying budgets, from simple handheld cameras to iphones to full production and studio quality cameras. With today's technology, shows have options to produce their live capture to fit within their budget.

As producers of live captures and live streaming musicals and plays, our team can capture your show in a professional manner for distribution. Broadway and Off-Broadway shows already work on tight budgets, but revenue streams are limited. Many traditional producers think in the box where they raise money for a show and if the show doesn't do well then it closes. 

 

Producers should plan for a live-capture as part of their capitalization. Even if the show closes, the show can have a lifetime of revenue from distribution of the live-capture. There are several ways to monetize a live-capture:

• License the capture to a streaming network like Amazon, Disney+, Netflix or HBOMax
